This is not a requirement. If you’re in a minor accident with no injuries and accident or one with injuries requiring
medical attention the police should be called.
How quickly are auto insurance claims processed?

some time to sort things out. A simple “fender bender” with one other vehicle and cooperative drivers will be
processed right away. A stolen vehicle will take approximately 30 days to allow time for possible recovery of the car.
Are taxes paid on money received from an auto insurance claim?
No. Money received from an auto insurance claim is not profit or revenue and is not subject to taxation.
Are auto insurance claims information shared if I switch to another insurance company?
Yes. Insurance companies participate in CLUE Insurance Databases allowing them to exchange information on
claims you file.

No. Perform a market survey of the value of your car. Contact a car dealership and find out the price for the same
or similar vehicle of the car that was totaled. Look in want ads and receive a price their. Examine bluebook valuation
carefully as adjustments are made for condition, mileage, etc… Come up with the average price of a replacement
vehicle and present it to your insurance company.
