Florida Commercial Auto Insurance
We are well known for Florida Auto Insurance but what most people don't know is that we also offer some of the
best commercial auto insurance found in the state of Florida.
What is Commercial Auto Insurance?
Commercial auto insurance is an auto insurance policy designed to protect business owners and corporations from
the risks associated with the care, custody, and control of motor vehicles.
Who needs Commercial Auto Insurance?
Business owners and corporations utilizing motor vehicles in the course of “doing business” should have a
commercial auto policy.
How much Commercial Auto Insurance should a business carry?
The type of vehicle, how it is used, legal requirements, tolerance for risk and affordability are the primary factors
that determine how much commercial auto insurance a business should have.
How is Commercial Auto Insurance different from personal auto insurance?
The policyholder, or owner, of personal auto insurance is an individual. The policyholder of commercial auto
insurance is a business which could be a sole proprietor, partnership, or corporation. Additional coverage options,
such as non-owned vehicle coverage, designed for protection in a “business environment” are available on a
commercial auto insurance policy.
Are injuries incurred by employees from an accident, with a company vehicle, covered by a commercial
auto policy?
The Florida Motor Vehicle No-Fault Act applies to commercial auto policies providing for personal injury benefits
(PIP). “Medical Payments” and “Uninsured Motorist” are common optional coverage’s, providing benefits to injured
persons, on both a personal and commercial auto insurance policy. If injuries are incurred during the course of
employment than workers compensation coverage will be applicable also.
Will a commercial auto policy provide coverage when an employee uses their own vehicle during the
course of employment?
Optional “non-owned auto” coverage must be selected for benefits to apply to employees using their own vehicle
during the course of employment. Once again, workers compensation will provide benefits to employees if they are
injured during the course of employment regardless of which vehicle is being used.
